It has been an interesting year at Tickbox, adapting to the extraordinary impact of Covid 19. A week before lockdown in March, we closed our Bristol office and have worked remotely ever since. We have found some surprising benefits of working from our home offices. As a team, we are in constant contact via Zoom and using our collaborative project and communication tools.

We do miss our office at the Tobacco Factory, Bedminster, and we intend to head back there when safe to do so, while continuing the option for flexible and home-working.

We have been helping our clients to adapt quicky to change, including making the most of online opportunities. Many clients have had to act quickly, creatively and strategically just to keep going, and we have had to quickly deploy and support ideas and tech that have been critical to their operation and survival. Our Tickbox Tech, including Volunteer Makers and Hummingbird, has risen to the challenge, supporting online campaigns, fundraising, inspired digital engagement and volunteering.

During lockdown we launched Let’s Do It! Wells for The Bishop’s Palace and their partners. This is a city-wide Volunteer Makers platform for organisations and community groups in Wells, Somerset, to come together and enrich the lives of their community, through getting involved in acts of kindness, volunteering, one-off projects, events, work experience, and much more.

We built a website (due to be released) and provided a Volunteer Makers platform for Lesnes Abbey Woods (Bexley Council). Lesnes is a park and ancient woodland, designated as a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation and a Local Nature Reserve. It is one of the biggest green spaces in London and Kent.
