Using technology to engage and inspire a community of supporters is a big part of what Tickbox do.
And Bristol-based charity HorseWorld are using the web to keep spirits up and have some fun, by holding a virtual horse show.
HorseWorld have had a long working association with Tickbox and their virtual horse show is being run via our Hummingbird Campaign Builder.
The charity is asking people to email in photos (and a short description if needed) of their horses, ponies and donkeys in a number of different, fun categories.
Details of the contest and all the categories can be found at the HorseWorld website and their Volunteer Makers supporter portal: HorseWorld Heroes.
A panel of celebrity judges will then look over your submissions and HorseWorld will be publishing a list of winners and sending out prizes.
Judges include actor Martin Clunes (who’ll be judging the “Muddiest Monster” category); Radio Bristol DJ Steve ‘Yabbo’ Yabsley (who judges the Funniest Equine Face contest); famous horse whisperer Monty Roberts (judging the Best Equine Teacher); and Intelligent Horsemanship founder Kelly Marks, who will decide the Saul Award for the Most Wonderful Welfare Equine.
Closing date for submissions is May 10th, and you can view them all on the horse show’s webpage.
Pictures need not to be up-to-date (bearing in mind isolation rules) and entry is free, although HorseWorld would like those who can afford it to donate at least £2.50 for each submission.
The UK may be eerily quiet, but the work of caring for 100 on-site equines, and after-care for rehomed horses continues.
HorseWorld’s director of funding Stephen Poole said: “We all need reasons to be cheerful, and celebrating our equine friends seems to be a wonderful one.
“For many of us the relationships we have with horses whether they’re our own, ones we’ve known in the past or just ones who hold a special place in our hearts, are a lifeline.
“In these times when life is particularly challenging, HorseWorld wanted to give supporters an opportunity to champion their favourite equine chums and remember just how lucky we are to have these wonderful animals in our lives.“
Tickbox are among the sponsors (as well as being behind the tech) of HorseWorld’s Virtual Horse Show, providing the branding.
